FAQ

Before you start.

In what order do lessons run?

Within one topic, you learn words and sentences, listen, and then speak in a conversation. You check the feedback and practise the phrases you need again. Not everyone starts in the same place.

Do my results change what I learn next?

Yes. AvoLingo first asks about your goal and situation, and builds lessons and a roadmap around them. Once you start, your results decide what you learn next and how hard it is.

Can I learn through topics I enjoy?

Yes. Pick your reason for learning and the topics you like, and your roadmap follows them. You get to know a topic in the language you are learning, pick up the phrases it needs, then speak or write about it. Even a small goal, like small talk with someone new, can be a topic.

What if I’m not sure what I want to learn yet?

Start broad, like “I want to feel at ease with overseas colleagues.” The questions narrow it down to real situations and practice.

Can I learn a language I’m new to through a topic I like?

Tell us the topic and what feels hard. AvoLingo adjusts the difficulty from your results as you go.
